The Register reports on a 1TB optical drive by Call/Recall in partnership with Nichia. The drive and disc will be Blu-ray compatible. Nichia’s blue-violet laser diodes (Blu-ray), are used in the new technology. A 200 plus layer medium is the ticket. To read the data a rhodamine-type dye is used, giving off light when excited by a laser beam through the 200 layers. A single fluid-filled lens varying the amount of fluid changes the focal length to read various layers.

Call/Recall, what a name. Does it remind you of cold calling or retuning every call before you end the day?

One more thing.

Server Admin Tools 10.5.3 contain remote administration tools, documentation, and utilities that you can install on a computer other than your server. This version is required to administer Mac OS X Server version 10.5.3 from a remote Mac client.

# Mac OS X 10.5.3 |

The combo update is 536MB and the server combo is a whopping 632MB. The install took a while, how long I do not know as I went out to do my Wednesday watering. The re-start did not take any longer than normal, even though there are reports of lengthy re-starts. Everything looks good and already this update is the most stable operating system I have ever used. OK, I have said that will every update since Mac OS 7.0,
