The company patches the issue where files were deleted from the desktop, when ever the automatic update was utilized. As before, the patch disables the subject functionality. Only this time any possible activation is “permanently” disabled.
A patch (R5) for QuickBooks Pro 2006 for Mac and QuickBooks New User Edition 2006 for Mac is now available that resolves the product upgrade issues that came about over the last two weeks … Once the patch is downloaded, you will need to install it to make the patch effective. If you have manually disabled the upgrade mechanism already, we strongly urge you to apply the patch since a refresh of your preferences will recreate the issue. Installing the patch will permanently disable the upgrade mechanism so that the issue won’t occur again

Why would one put their entire financial information in software so mismanaged. There is well tested open source routines for doing auto updates. Why does the bug exist at all?
