# Googling yourself |

Have you either googled your friends, fellow employees, your loved ones or yourself? Googling either, particularly yourselves, is growing. The New York Times has some interesting demographic data. Is their concern about how the information might be used? Those that are warned about the use of information are most reluctant to share it. The greater use of Google is to find companies. # Is Sherlock back again? |

Sherlock2_OS9.pngA ZDNet article emphasizes “…Sherlock is really, really dead“. The reason they felt it necessary to bring this up is a new feature in Safari, that enables the user to create Widgets of parts of a web page. Open a web page in Safari and choose “Open in Dashboard” from the Edit menu. A re-sizable and moveable window will open over some area of the page and a purple bar will appear near the top of the web browse with instructions. I made a Widget of the calendar from Stanslist.net and clicking on any date took me to those articles. Ok, not as useful as the calendar on the web page, but it was an example of what I could do.

A lot of this reminds me of OpenDoc, a project centered, rather than an application centered project

# Security Update 2007-009 v1.1 |

Security Update 2007-009 v1.1 for Mac OS X 10.5.1 and 10.4.11 hot on the heels of v1.0. Available via Software Update or as a stand-alone updater.

The update …addresses an issue introduced in Security Update 2007-009 [v1.0] that causes an unexpected termination of the Safari application when browsing to certain web sites.

I installed via Software Update last night and have not noticed any problems.
