# Avoid running Time Machine if Aperture is running | October 28th, 2007

This KB article warns that running Mac OS X 10.5’s Time Machine while Aperture is open could lead to corruption of Aperture’s database.

If you use Time Machine with Leopard, be sure to set your computer up so that Time Machine only does manual backups. Avoid performing either backups or restores while Aperture is running.
