According to Tech.co.uk, Apple is in the works to allow “Made For iPod” licensees that would be able to decode the “FairPlay” DRM encryption used on iTunes Music Store’s products. This move (if true) would be a huge change from Apple’s usual stance which has been to jealously protect its protection scheme from being used by other manufacturers.

This is actually a site that takes you to page after page of increasing credit card offers, never quite making it to the expected reward. AppleInsider had one these for a long time. Now there is a Ad by Google for a Free iPhone. NOT.

It is an interesting question posed by David Pauly on Bloomberg.com Can Apple continue to be a leader in technology without its venerable leader. He goes through a worse case scenario in regards to Apple’s troubles with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Some people at worried that if it came down to giving Steve the axe that they would be cutting off their own heads.
This years MacWorld did seem to have a bit more pep in it than the last few years have. I was beginning to think that the glory days of the expo were behind us and that the famous trade show would continue to dwindle but this year has given me hope. The vendors were more energetic, the swag was plentiful, and the crowds were buzzing. As Apple’s share of the market grows, and with the switch next year to the third week of January (to alleviate the conflict with CES) I hope to see our favorite gathering become an even more exciting place.
