The Sydney Morning Herald profiles a number of different VoIP solutions, including Apple’s iChat and Skype.

Apple got into the internet chatting business early with iChat and the iSight camera-microphone, with which you can text, talk and video-conference with up to 10 people on your buddy list in audio and three in video, but all points need good broadband. Skype is now video enabled and recently released its video application for Mac users, taking advantage of the iSight cameras built into Mac notebooks and iMacs. More …

Apple has confirmed this article in a KB article 304819 that states:

“If the Classic environment is running and you attempt to video chat with iChat or use iSight in PhotoBooth, an alert message may appear that the iSight camera is in use by another application.”
