# Cocoa-based Firefox |

MacUser UK is reporting that Cocoa-based nightly builds of Firefox have begun appearing. These are the first public fruits of Josh Aas who pioneered the effort to port Firefox to Mactel and has now been charged with making the leading alternative browser more Mac-like.

Unlike the current stable Firefox version for Mac OS X, the new builds, codenamed Minefield, use Apple’s Cocoa API to provide a much more Mac-like look-and feel. It should also ensure better integration with other OS X technologies and applications.
