Ars Technica reports that Parallels Desktop has made its way into retail Apple stores. “In a phone conversation this morning, a company representative stated that Parallels’ desktop software has been made available in at least some Apple retail stores as early as this past Saturday, July 15th. Steve Jobs will reportedly announce movie content from the major Hollywood studios at Apple’s WWDC in August, Think Secret reports.
Walt Disney, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Bros have reportedly all signed up to sell feature films on Apple’s iTMS. But there’s a catch - these will be movie rentals, not purchases. The videos will be datestamped to prevent unlimited playback or, alternatively, the player software may limit the number of plays.
