ZDNet reports that Creative has sued Apple over their iPod interface. From the article: “Creative Technology said Monday that it has filed two legal actions against Apple Computer, charging the popular iPod infringes on its patented technology. … In both cases, Creative says that the iPod and iPod Nano infringe on a patent the company has for the interface in its Zen media player, a patent granted last August.” More …

# Apple releases MacBook |

A press release states:

“At about one-inch thin, the new MacBook is 20 percent thinner than the iBook and features a gorgeous new 13-inch glossy widescreen display. With a display that is 79 percent brighter than the iBook and the 12-inch PowerBook, the MacBook provides incredibly crisp images with richer colors, deeper blacks and significantly greater contrast. At a resolution of 1280 x 800, the MacBook display provides 30 percent more viewing area than the iBook and the 12-inch PowerBook.” More …

Single of the Week

Jamie Lidell’s musical background is teeped in twisting beats and manipulating effects. While most of the electronic journeymen in his peer group are over-calculating their next moves, Jamie Lidell has gone the opposite direction, coming out as a straightforward sould man. Sure, there are nods to his background in the occasion stuttering vocal effect or the slightly askew drum programmin, but the key factor here is that Lidell has the song-writing skills and (shockingly) the voice to stand up tall next to comparisons to Wilson Pickett, Prince and Stevie Wonder. What’s the Use? is the “free” Single of the Week.
