The Japanese magazine MacFan reports that the Intel Core Duo iMac’s CPU is socketed. O’Grady’s PowerPage writes: “This means that it isn’t soldered to the logic board like most Macintosh CPUs have been for years and can be upgraded. In an article in the Japanese magazine MacFan a reader claims to have upgraded the processor in a 17-inch Intel iMac from 1.83GHz to 2.0GHz without issue.”

MTV Networks and Apple today announced that hit television programming from MTV, MTV2, COMEDY CENTRAL, Nickelodeon and The N is now available for purchase and download on the iTunes Music Store. The new content features top-rated favorites such as Punk’d, South Park, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants and Laguna Beach. These latest additions lift the number of TV shows available via iTMS to over 40 at $1.99 per episode.
