# Rosetta development coming right along | December 11th, 2005

AppleInsider states that OS X.4.4 for Intel development is well advanced. Further, the analyst states that Rosetta—an emulator for running PowerPC software on Intel chips—has gained improved Altivec support.

“We believe this will alleviate concerns that older software that hasn’t been ported to Intel will run well without a recompile,” AppleInsider’s Wu states.
