iTunes free Single of the Week (comments from iTunes)

They’re young, hip and they’re from London. If that wasn’t enough of a selling point, The Subways are actually a band who deserve your attention. If you’re a fan of coolly disaffected pop with stylish punk energy, then you’ll understand why Rock & Roll Queen is our “free” Single of the Week.

Yahoo News reports Sony recently released at least 20 popular new CD titles with a new copy-protection scheme. The scheme places a hidden application on a Windows computer the first time a CD is inserted. The application then limits the number of copies that can be made of the CD. It is technically spyware, it provides a vehicle for malware and its removal can disable the computers optical drive.

That antipiracy software works only on Windows PCs. The Mac part requires direct interaction and a administration password. The auto-run ability on doorstops is likely to be debated.
